Jory Heckman is a reporter with Federal News Network and the host of All About Data, a biweekly radio show and podcast that features the work of chief data officers and the people who are making data work better in government.

All About Data airs on 1500AM in the D.C. metro area on Wednesdays at 2:30 p.m. and is available on all major podcast platforms.

Since 2018, Jory has reported on the labor and technology issues that matter most to the federal workforce and those doing business with the federal government. His coverage focuses on the Postal Service, the Department of Veterans Affairs and the IRS.

Jory has appeared on Wisconsin Public Radio’s “Central Time,” “TalkLine with Hoppy Kercheval,” on West Virginia MetroNews and WJLA’s Government Matters to discuss his reporting.

He’s moderated panel discussions at events hosted by the Data Foundation, the Armed Forces Communications & Electronics Association International (AFCEA), the Association for Federal Information Resources Management (AFIRM), the Association of Government Accountants (AGA) and the Advanced Technology Academic Research Center (ATARC).

Jory started working at Federal News Network as a digital news writer in 2014.  He’s also worked as a desk assistant with CBS News Radio in New York and was a reporter for the Citizens’ Voice newspaper in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.

He graduated from Hofstra University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism and political science. He also studied political science at the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands.

Jory is a former chairman of the National Press Club’s Young Members Committee, and an active National Press Club member. He’s run six marathons in four countries, and officiated three weddings.
